Extremely tight ring grain blast with wonderful birds eye on the bottom,
showing plateau. One of my favorite shapes and very comfortable in the
hand.

loved making this pipe. Pot shapes are very interesting and lend
themselves to offering a wonderful ring grain blast. The pipe feels
like a featherweight and is extremely comfortable in the hand. The bowl
offers a nice and wide drilling.

Length: 5"
Height: 1-1/2"
Bowl depth: 1-1/4"
Bowl diameter: 7/8"
Stem: hand cut cumberland ebonite
Comments:
With this pipe, the blasting was done and nothing else, in the way of a
finish, was done. There is no stain, wax or anything else. I just
wanted to do a blast and leave it in a natural state. I find it
attractive and have done this with a couple of personal pipes. They
achieve a very personal and individualistic patina.

Comments:
Gosh! This is a tough one, as this pipe maker doesn't care to brag. I
will say that everything came together and there is a lot of pride in a
job well done.

Comments:
First off, the shank of the pipe tapers right at .5 degree. It
certainly, in my eye, adds to the flow, being such a long pipe. The
blast is concise, but not too deep. A little about the stem. This
material is wonderful and takes one back to years past, due to quality.

Comments:
This pipe abounds with wonderful growth rings and birds eye. I
thoroughly enjoyed developing the rings and birds eye on this pipe.
Sometimes the briar wants to cooperate with you and this was one of
those times. The pipe has a contrast stain, one that I like since it
gives the briar the appearance of a fine patina. This billiard will
immediately become an old friend.

One of those pieces of briar that doesn't come along very often and a
pleasure to work with in creating a blast that has real personality.
The growth rings undulate around the bowl, with the apex at the bottom
of the heel and this continues into the shank. This pipe was a dream.
For some reason I couldn't get the white balance correct and the photos
show the pipe on the brownish side. The pipe is actually a deep
reddish/maroon. This is complimented with a vintage bakelite stem,
which is a creamy white, with swirls. The bakelite is spectacular,
imho.

accomplish exactly what was envisioned. This was a wonderful piece of
briar and behaved, enabling a wonderful 360 degree blast. The weight of
the pipe is very light and the hand feel is just terrific. Enjoying
