Sandblasting Steps

Plateau Briar-Notice the Rings
The following photos show the ring development with the first blast.  It is with this blast that I determine the topography of the rings.
Image:
What follows is the first major sandblast of the rings, working with their flow as they meander around the pipe.  This is the part I find most fascinating and why I love to sandblast briar.  The wood is interesting and beautiful.  Every piece is like a snowflake - different and alluring.

In the last photo, please notice how the symmetry has not changed.  The reason for this is that the ring structure remains virtually untouched throughout the process.

To arrive at this point has taken quite a lot of time and care;  think of briar micro surgery.  Now that I have the ring development delineated, it's time to refine and/or determine depth and structure best suited for the pipes shape, symmetry and aesthetics.

This piece is complete and may be seen on my For Sale page.
Thanks for viewing this journey and I hope it was interesting and educational.
